Class Schedule

img_5231The Flower Market hosts a variety of instructional classes, workshops, lectures, open houses, and special events for fairy gardens, bonsai, and other topics. We welcome groups such as garden clubs, bonsai clubs, 4-H groups, girl scouts, and birthday parties. Kurt has been the featured speaker at many tradeshows and events.

Introduction to Indoor/Outdoor Bonsai

This is a class for people who would like to learn the basics of bonsai. If you think that you would like to try bonsai this is the class for you! Instruction, tree, soil, pot, bonsai shears, and wire all included.

Indoor Bonsai Class Cost: $65
Outdoor Bonsai Class Cost: $80

Bonsai Study

bon-studyThis class is for those who want a more in depth study into the art of Bonsai. There are four sessions over several months. You will learn all aspects of Bonsai including different design styles, potting, insect control, general care, and requirements throughout all seasons, including wintering your hardy trees. Bonsai care and maintenance manual will be provided.

Grove/Forest Class

During this workshop you will build your own bonsai forest. The class covers basic layout and design. Students should have some basic bonsai knowledge or have taken an introductory bonsai class. Class includes instruction, 7 trees, soil, and pot.

Open Bonsai Studio

bonsai3The First Saturday of every month (9a.m. – 4p.m.) our bonsai studio is open to everyone! Bring your trees to work on, questions or concerns. We will have our bonsai artists available to help you cost free!
